DANVILLE, Ky. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team won their third straight Southern Athletic Association game by defeating Centre 64-62 on the road Sunday afternoon.
The host Colonels (9-5, 4-1), who suffered their first conference loss of the year, led the entire first half, with their largest lead being eight points with 2:48 left in the period. The Warriors (7-8, 3-2) scored the final five points of the half on a three-pointer from senior guard

With Centre leading 53-52 with 7:43 remaining in the game, Hendrix went on a 8-0 run over the next three minutes to go up 60-53. A basket by the Colonels' Perry Ayers made the game 62-61 in the Warriors' favor with 13 ticks left. Senior guard
Hank Aldous hammered a dunk six seconds later to push the Orange & Black's lead to three. Matt Gump hit one-of-two free throws with four seconds left for the final 64-62 score. The Colonels missed a three-pointer at the buzzer to secure Hendrix' victory.
For the game, the Warriors shot 33.9 percent (20-of-59) from the field, 8-of-29 from three-point range and 16-of-27 at the free throw line. They also recorded 40 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals and a season conference-low six turnovers. The Colonels shot 44 percent (22-of-50) overall, 6-of-19 from outside and 12-of-19 at the line with 37 boards, 10 assists, 11 turnovers, three blocks and one steal.
