CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team took down Southern Athletic Association foe Oglethorpe University 79-72 in overtime at Grove Gymnasium Sunday afternoon.
The visiting Stormy Petrels (6-14, 3-6) and host Warriors (9-10, 5-4) traded three leads and had three times in the first half, before OU led 36-31 at the break. The Petrels led 54-46 with 8:10 left to play in the second period, before the Orange & Black went on 16-6 run to go up 62-60 at the 1:03 mark. Jacob Link hit a pair of free throws with seven seconds left to regain the lead for the Warriors. Oglethorpe's Justin Edwards scored with two seconds left to force the game to overtime.
The Petrels took a 68-67 advantage with 2:51 left in the extra period. Hendrix finished the game on a 12-5 run. Senior guards

Hank Aldous made back-to-back three pointers during the stretch. Link went 3-for-4 at the line, as did senior guard
Aaron Steele, in the final minute of the game to secure the victory.
For the game, the Warriors shot 40.3 percent (25-of-62) from the field, 12-of-32 from three-point range and 17-of-28 at the line. They also recorded 46 rebounds, 22 assists, 13 turnovers, seven blocks and six steals. Their 12 three-pointers made were tied for the ninth most in school history.
The Petrels shot 42.2 percent (27-of-64) overall, 8-of-20 from outside and 10-of-18 at the line with 39 rebounds, 18 assists, 13 turnovers, four blocks and six steals.
Hendrix Notes
- Aldous finished with a season-high 29 points with 10 rebounds, five assists, a block and three steals. Aldous drained five three-pointers in the game.
- Link nearly had a triple-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.

Preston Smith came up with 13 points and dished out three assists.

Bryce Parker buried four threes for 12 points.

Gearen Littlefield registered four points, five boards and a career-high three blocks.
