Danville, KY -Â Hendrix College dropped another close game to Eastern Mennonite. The loss dropped the Warriors to 4-9.
In the early going, the Warriors and the Royals exchanged shots and penalty corner opportunities, with neither team able to gain a clear advantage.
Hendrix would score at the 5:47 mark, on a goal from
Rebecca Maeder.
The Royals then countered with a goal of their own at the 19:56 mark.
Before the halftime break, the Warriors would score again taking the 2-1 lead into the half.
In the first 21 minutes of the second-half Eastern Mennonite would find the back of the cage for a goal, and they would again score in the 60'.
As the game progressed into the final moments, Hendrix's offense searched for an equalizer. At the 67:24 mark,
Holly Heeb's shot was blocked before Romee Blokland's follow up attempt would go in for a goal. EMU would quickly fire off another shot less than a minute later that would also find the back of the cage giving them the 4-3 lead and would be the final score of the game.
Hendrix will now turn their attention to conference play; they will return and take on Rhodes College on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1:00 p.m.
