Danville, KY -Â The #6 seeded Hendrix College women's soccer team competed this afternoon for the SAA Conference Tournament Championship against the top seeded Centre College. The Warriors entered the game coming off of a win over the #2 seeded Birmingham Southern.
The two teams would be all tied up at the conclusion of the first half 1-1.The first goal for the Warriors would come in the 22'Â as
Hagan Griffith scored.
A goal in the 48' from CC would put the Warriors away falling 2-1. Â
"I have to give a lot of credit to Centre," said Head Coach
Jeff Trimble. "They are well coached and a skilled team. I felt like we played a good game and worked hard to keep things close and give ourselves a chance to win."
"I'm really proud of the girls and how they finished the year," ended Coach Trimble. "The seniors had their first year to win a championship and it was great to see them get themselves in a position to play for one. We will learn from this and be a better program moving foward."
The Warriors were out shot 14-8 in the game.
