CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team scored five times in the fourth quarter to propel them to a 9-6 win over Huntingdon College at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors (2-2) scored 16 seconds into the game when sophomore
Dominic Dachille had a goal on a pass from senior midfielder
Alex Ortenstone. The Hawks (2-2) tied it up with a little over 10 minutes left in the first and the teams were tied 4-4 at the end of the opening period. Huntingdon took a 5-4 lead into halftime.
The visitors went up 6-4 early in the third period, but goals from sophomore
Cullen Robinette and
Matt Latham knotted the game back up. The Warriors took the lead with 12:08 to play when Ortenstone assisted sophomore
Cole Cramer who ripped a shot in past the Hawks' keeper. Just 43 seconds later, Huntingdon tied it back up on a Miles Stading goal, but Ortenstone answered with a goal to take the lead 17 seconds later.
Sophomore
Jack Gorman put the Warriors up 7-5 at the 6:57 mark, but the Hawks got another quick goal on the next faceoff to make it 7-6.
T. Michael Thomas and Ortenstone added a cushion with goals late in the quarter.
For the game, Hendrix recorded nine goals, nine assists, 40 shots, 27 on goal, 27 ground balls, won eight faceoffs, 13 turnovers and eight caused turnovers while going 18-of-21 on clears. Huntingdon had six goals, three assists, 28 shots, 17 on goal, 29 ground balls, 11 faceoffs, 21 turnovers and five caused and went 17-of-22 on clears.

- Matt Murphy recorded 18 saves and six ground balls in goal.
