MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's basketball season came to an end with an 87-61 loss to Sewanee - The University of the South in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament Friday afternoon.
The fourth-seeded Tigers (15-11) shot 62.7 percent (32-of-51) from the field, while the fifth-seeded Warriors (11-15) shot 39.3 percent (22-of-56).
Hendrix led 8-7 early, before Sewanee went on a 22-8 run over the next 10 minutes to take command of the game. The Tigers led 38-26 at halftime.
The Warriors also shot 6-of-21 from three-point range and 11-for-14 at the free throw line with 18 rebounds, eight assists, 10 turnovers, two blocks and four steals. The Tigers shot 8-of-14 from outside and 15-of-16 at the line with 38 boards, 19 assists, 15 turnovers, four blocks and five steals.
The game was the final for five seniors -
Hank Aldous,
Travis Garrett,
Aaron Steele,
Gearen Littlefield and
Bryce Parker.
