CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College softball team split a double-header with Centenary College of Louisiana Sunday afternoon at Warrior Field. The Warriors (8-6) won the first game 7-3 while the Ladies (3-9) took game two 8-6.
Centenary scored the first run of the opener in the top of the first when right fielder Cassie Gonzales led off with an infield single and later scored on a sacrifice fly by first baseman Wendy Gillet. Senior second baseman
Victoria Hughes led the bottom of the frame off with a hit, stole second and scored on a base hit by sophomore catcher
Karli Sewell to tie it up.
The Ladies took a 2-1 lead in the second on a sac fly by left fielder Mallory Ford, who drove in Michelle Tasin. The Warriors took the lead for good in the bottom of the second. With one out, freshman shortstop
Taylor Oglesby drew a walk followed by a single by freshman center fielder
Aubrey Brink. Hughes followed with a ground ball to second, but the Ladies could not make an out, which loaded the bases. Junior right fielder
Bryanna Carlisle singled through the right side to plate Oglesby, then Sewell connected on a sac fly to drive in Brink and give the Orange & Black and a 3-2 advantage.

Nikki Sanders led the bottom of the third off with a base hit and sophomore left fielder
Emily Stockalper doubled her in. After a wild pitch, junior
Morgan Maida hit a ground ball allowing Stockalper to score.
Hendrix took a 6-2 lead in the fourth when Carlisle singled, stole second and reached third on an error on the steal attempt. She crossed the plate on Sewell's double to right center.
With two outs in the top of the sixth, shortstop Anna Dunn singled and scored on a Tasin double. The Warriors had the final run of the game in the bottom of the sixth after Carlisle singled and reached third on an error on the play. Freshman pinch runner

Freshman
Stephanie Combs (1-0) earned the win by allowing four hits and a run with two strikeouts in three innings of relief. Centenary's Mackenzie Stewart (0-1) allowed 12 hits, seven runs, a walk and three strikeouts in the loss.
Hendrix Game 1 Notes
- Sewell went 3-for-3 with two doubles, four RBI and a sacrifice fly.

In game two, the Warriors nearly overcame an 8-1 deficit in the bottom of the seventh, but fell just short.
The Ladies started the game with three runs on two hits and an error in the top of the first. They went up 4-0 in the third when center fielder Haley Campbell drew a walk and later scored on a ground ball by Tasin.
Hendrix scored a run in the bottom of the third when Hughes doubled and scored on a base hit from Sewell. Centenary went up 6-1 in the fifth with two runs on a hit, a walk and an error.
The Ladies picked up a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh on a two-run homer over the left field fence off of Dunn's bat.
Hendrix sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of the seventh, scoring five runs on five hits, an error, a hit batter and a sacrifice fly. The Warriors ended the game with the bases loaded.
Nichole Aldridge (3-4) picked up the victory with four strikeouts and 10 hits, five earned runs and a walk over six plus innings. Stewart earned the save by allowing a walk and a hit in the seventh. Stockalper (5-3) allowed eight hits, five earned runs, three walks and fanned three in the loss.

- Sewell had the hot bat again, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two driven in.
- Hughes went 3-for-4 with two runs and a double.
- Combs picked up a pinch hit RBI-single in the seventh.

Hannah Billings led the seventh off with a pinch hit single and scored a run.
Centenary Game 2 Notes
- Dunn went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, three RBI, a double and the home run.
- Tasin drove in two runs and recorded a double.
- Shortstop Kaitlyn Price had a hit, stole a base and scored twice.
