CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team defeated Trine University 12-6 at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium Thursday night.
The Warriors (5-4) opened the game with two quick goals from freshman
T. Michael Thomas and sophomore
Jack Gorman. The Thunder (2-2) scored on a Neil Orr goal with 4:07 left in the first quarter.
Thomas Adamo,
Alex Ortenstone and Gorman again scored to give the Orange & Black a 5-1 lead after a quarter.
Hendrix outscored Trine 4-1 in the second for a 9-2 advantage at the break. Gorman scored his fourth goal of the game and sophomore
Matt Latham found the cage to put the Warriors up 11-2 with 6:33 remaining in the third. The Thunder would score four of the next five goals for the rest of the contest for the final 12-6 score.
For the game, Hendrix recorded 12 goals, five assists, 55 shots, 39 on goal, 33 ground balls, 10 faceoffs won, 10 caused turnovers and were 18-of-20 on clear attempts. Trine had six goals, four assists, 32 shots, 20 on goal, 33 ground balls, 11 faceoffs, six caused turnovers and were 17-of-20 on clears.

- Senior keeper
Christian Wheeler recorded 14 saves with three ground balls. He earned his 13th win in goal for his career, breaking the old record of 12 set by
Joe Takacs.
- Gorman had a career-high four goals with an assist.
- Latham posted two goals and an assist with three ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Thomas and Ortenstone had two goals a piece.

Dominic Dachille recorded a goal, an assist, six ground balls and two caused turnovers.
