CLERMONT, Fla. - The Hendrix College softball lost their opening contest of the The Spring Games 8-3 to Kalamazoo College on Tuesday.
The Hornets (9-6) scored three runs on three hits and an error in the bottom of the first. They added two more on a hit, an error and a wild pitch in the second to go up 5-0.
The Warriors (10-8) made the game 5-2 in the top of the third. Junior right fielder
Bryanna Carlisle led off with a double and scored on a double by senior third baseman
Sydney Ozersky. Sophomore pitcher
Emily Stockalper followed with a base hit, moving Ozersky to third. Ozersky scored after an error on Stockalper's stolen base of second.
In the top of the fifth, senior second baseman
Victoria Hughes reached on a bunt single and Carlisle moved her to second on a sacrifice. Hughes stole third and scored on a throwing error by the Kalamazoo catcher.
The Hornets added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth for the 8-3 victory.
Erin DuRoss (6-3) earned the win for the Hornets, allowing eight hits, two earned runs and four walks with six strikeouts. Stockapler (7-4) allowed nine hits, five earned runs, three walks and struck out three over six innings in the loss.

- Nori Seita went 2-for-3 with two RBI, a run scored and a double.
- Shortstop Isabella Kierck had a hit, a run scored, two sac bunts and a stolen base.
