CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College softball team swept Sewanee - The University of the South in a Southern Athletic Association double-header at Warrior Field Saturday.
In game one, the Warriors (15-18, 7-10) won 14-2 on 15 hits, taking advantage of four errors committed by the Tigers (1-31, 0-16).
Senior third baseman
Sydney Ozersky led the Hendrix offense by going 4-for-4 with a triple, three RBI, a steal and a pair of runs.
Sophomore
Dasha Donahoe (2-3) allowed eight hits and two runs with three strikeouts in the five-inning victory. Sydeny Leibfritz (1-22) gave up 12 hits and five earned runs in 2.2 frames.
Hendrix Game 1 Notes
- Senior shortstop
Victoria Hughes went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI. She also added to her program career stolen base record with two.
- Donahoe also went 2-for-2 with two driven in and two runs scored.
- Junior second baseman
Deva Bharne drove in two runs with a hit and scored a run.
- Sophomore catcher
Karli Sewell scored three times with a hit and a RBI.
- Junior first baseman
Nikki Sanders knocked in two runs with a single.
- Sophomore left fielder
Emily Stockalper also had two RBI with a double and run scored.
- Freshman center fielder
Aubrey Brink recorded a hit and two runs scored.
- Junior designated player
Morgan Maida had a base hit.
Sewanee Game 1 Notes
- Shortstop Rachel Hoffman recorded two hits, including a double, and a RBI.
- First baseman Caroline Sweetin had two hits and drove in a run.
- Right fielder Emily Taylor recorded a hit and scored.
- Third baseman Katie Roth doubled and scored.

Hendrix freshman
Stephanie Combs (2-1) struck out a season-high five batters, allowing just seven hits and a walk in a 4-0 win in game two. Sweetin (0-3) allowed seven hits, three earned runs, a walk and two strikeouts in the loss.
Each team recorded seven hits, but Sewanee committed a pair of errors.
Combs also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, RBI and run scored.
