CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Hendrix College softball team lost the first round game of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament 8-1 to Birmingham-Southern College Friday morning.
The fourth-seeded Panthers (22-16) outhit the fifth-seeded Warriors (16-19) 11-4 and took advantage of four errors.
BSC scored twice in the first on a hit and an error. Hendrix junior designated player
Morgan Maida hit a solo home run in the top of the third.
The Panthers added another run in the third and three runs in the fourth. Savannah Lee and Haley Crumpton hit back-to-back solo homers for BSC in the sixth.
Crumpton (12-7) earned the win with nine strikeouts and allowing for hits and a run. Sophomore
Emily Stockalper (10-10) took the loss for the Warriors.

Nikki Sanders went 2-for-3 with a double.
