CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College softball team lost their Southern Athletic Association series finale at Millsaps College 6-3 on the road Sunday afternoon.
The Majors (23-10, 10-4) started the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. Designated player Hannah Doggett hit a two-run single in the third to give the home team a 4-0 lead.
The Warriors (13-18, 5-10) cut the deficit in half in the fourth when senior third baseman Sydeny Ozersky singled and was followed by a home run from junior first baseman
Nikki Sanders.
Millsaps scored two more runs in the fifth on three hits and an error. Hendrix' final run came in the top of the sixth on a solo hom run from junior second baseman
Deva Bharne.
Kayla Davidson (14-3) struck out nine and gave up six hits, three runs and a walk to get the win. Sophomore
Emily Stockalper (8-9) allowed five hits, four runs and struck out two in three innings in the losing effort.
