Memphis, TN - The Hendrix College Men's Soccer team returned to the pitch this afternoon in another non-conference matchup. The Warriors entered the game with an 0-4 record and the Mississippi University for Women came in with a 0-3-1 record.
Hendrix and MUW played the first half to a scoreless tie, despite Hendrix outshooting the Owls 8-3 in the first stanza of action. The Warriors outscored the Owls 14-3 in the second half to pull out the slim 1-0 victory gaining their first win of the season.
"Really pleased to get the victory and shutout," said Head Coach
Matt Kern. "We were not clean technically today, and our shape in possession was poor which is my fault and we will look to improve upon it in the coming week."
"MUW was very organized," ended Coach Kern. "They made it a difficult game."
Faraz Arif netted the first and only Hendrix goal in the 76' of the contest.
The Warriors out-shot MUW 22-5 in the contest and had a 9-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Nathan Myers got the win in net to improve HC's overall record to 1-4 on the season. Myers made one save. MUW's GK's made eight saves combined in net to keep the game close.
Hendrix returns to action on Tuesday when they host Ecclesia in a non-conference tilt. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
