Box Score Birmingham, AL - The Hendrix College women's basketball team hit the hardwood in a SAA Conference game as the Panthers of Birmingham Southern hosted them. The Warriors entered play with a record of 10-4 overall, 2-1 SAA. 

The Warriors continued their winning ways and extended their streak to three straight. The win improved Hendrix to 11-4 overall, 3-1 SAA.

The Warriors kept their foot on the pedal and fought hard into double overtime before earning the victory 83-72.

"It was a gutsy win," said Head Coach Drew Gaeng. "It was a tough opponent and tough to play them. I am really proud of our team for pulling it off."

Leah Smith stepped up in a major way putting up 26 points and four rebounds. It was truly a team effort by the Warriors as two other players recorded double figures; Madison Martin had 23 points and Vinessa Daniel added 12.

Hendrix faces a tough task as they take on the Majors of Millsaps on the road in another SAA match-up.  Tip-off is set for 1:00 pm on Sunday January 14th.
