Sewanee, TN - The Hendrix College men's basketball team traveled to Sewanee, TN Sunday afternoon for a SAA Conference match-up against the Tigers of Sewanee. In a tough conference match, it was the Tigers coming away with the 77-56 victory.
The first half was played tough throughout, however by the end of the half the Sewanee lead would get up to 14 points.
Sewanee's largest lead of the half came after they drained a three with five seconds remaining, putting the Tigers up 41-27 going into half time.
The Tigers came out of the locker room firing in the second half, holding a 16 point 45-29 lead early.Â
Made free-throws from Sewanee would give them a 62-42 lead with just under eight minutes to play.
The Tigers would continue to fight hard, looking to take the season sweep on HC, going up by as much as 21 with 53 seconds left to play after more made free throws.
The Warriors fired back late, with a jumper from
Kam Brasfield cutting the lead to 21; however, Sewanee was able to outlast Hendrix, coming away with an 77-56 win.
Brasfield led the way for Hendrix, dropping 20 points. He also added two assists and five rebounds, as the Warriors dropped their sixth straight game.
Michael Calamese finished the day with 12 points; while
Trey Rouse ended the afternoon earning eleven points.
The loss drops Hendrix to 4-16 overall and 2-7 in SAA play, as they await to take on Oglethorpe next Friday.Â
