CONWAY, Ark - Following a straight-set win against NAIA foe Philander Smith College Wednesday, the Warriors looked to get back to its winning ways when Hendrix faced Centre Saturday in the next-to-last home Southern Athletic Association contest of the 2018 regular season. Centre maintained a 18-15 lead in the opening frame but a quick 6-0 run by the home team helped the Warriors obtain all of the momentum. Hendrix ended up defeating Centre in straight sets (25-21, 25-13, 25-16) as the Warriors continue to stay at the top of the SAA standings. With the win, Hendrix improves to 18-5 and a nice 10-3 in SAA action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 18-15, a 6-0 run by the home team helped seize the lead capped off by a powerful kill from freshman
Sadie Walker. The Warriors took the opening set 25-21.
- Following a kill from senior
Brianna Kelly and a block assist from Kelly and sophomore
Mallory Carty, the Warriors quickly obtained a 8-1 lead in the second frame.
- A pair of service aces from sophomore
Allison Long helped Hendrix sustain a 5-0 run to give the Warriors a commanding 19-7 lead. Hendrix would take the second set 25-13.
- Trailing 6-3 in the third set, Hendrix manufactured a 6-0 run to take a 9-6 advantage.
- Leading by just one midway through the third set, senior
Hannah Moore checked into the game to serve. Moore helped Hendrix cap off an impressive 11-0 run that made the Colonels use its two timeouts in the lone run.

Lauren Dwyer recorded the last kill of the match as Hendrix swept its third consecutive opponent following the three-set win Saturday.

Amber Melcher recorded 14 assists and seven digs while freshman
Claire Smith added a team-best 19 assists and five digs.
- Both Smith and Walker hit an even .333 in the win; combining for nine kills.
- Dwyer recorded 12 kills and 12 digs; her eighth double-double of the 2018 season.
WHAT WAS SAID
"We had a great week of practices and really focused on staying consistent and it translated to the game," stated Head Coach
Brittany Newberry. "I think this was our most consistent match this season especially in regards to our serving and passing. We need to build on this momentum going into senior day tomorrow and post season."

The Warriors have just one home game left in the regular season. Hendrix will host Sewanee Sunday at noon as part of Senior Day before gearing up to head to Rome, Ga. for the 2018 SAA Volleyball Championships next weekend.
