Tigers Hold Off Warriors Late in Big Non-Conference Contest

CONWAY, Ark. - After playing two games inside Grove Gymnasium over the weekend in the SCAC/SAA Challenge, the Warriors welcomed in East Texas Baptist University Tuesday evening in the last game before Thanksgiving. The Tigers, who found themselves with an 18-point lead at the break, kept the Warriors from scoring any points for the last 2:04 as ETBU managed to escape Conway with an 86-75 non-conference victory. Freshman forward Seth Stanley netted a career-best 23 points off the bench on an efficient 9-of-13 from the floor including 5-for-9 from downtown against the Tigers while sophomore guard Kam Brasfield nearly tallied a triple-double after a eight-point, 10 rebound, six-assist performance versus ETBU.

OF NOTE
- The Warriors took all the momentum for the first four minutes; leading by as many as six at 10-4 and 12-6.
- ETBU ended up shooting better than 60% for the entire first half and exactly 75% from the charity stripe as the Tigers recorded 52 first half points.
- Despite making just 13 baskets in the second half after 20 in the first, the Tigers recorded three blocks and four stills en route to the 11-point win.
- Freshman forward Carl Fitch registered his fourth-career double-figure point game after going for 12 points, four boards, and a season-high four blocks.
- Juniors Trace Crawford and Jacob Link added seven points and two offensive rebounds apiece in 56 minutes of combined action.
- The five three-pointer makes from Stanley on the night sets the record for most successful three-pointers by a Warrior this season.
- The 10 rebounds and six dimes by Brasfield Tuesday against the Tigers marks the most rebounds and most assists in a game by a single player this season as well.
- The four blocked shots Tuesday evening is a season-best for Fitch but also is the seventh-most blocks in a game in program history (Luke Vance - 6, Feb. 15, 2015 vs Oglethorpe).
- ETBU outscored the Warriors 50-32 in the paint while also outrebounding Hendrix by six (42-36).
- The 32 three-point attempts attempted Tuesday is a new season record; topping the 30 shots fired against the Dallas Crusaders Nov. 15.
