Golden Suns Too Much for Warriors in Exhibition Finale

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Fresh off a 100+ point victory against Ecclesia College, Arkansas Tech hosted the Warriors in Hendrix's final exhibition contest of the 2018-19 season. After losing by 32 points to NCAA Division I cross town rival University of Central Arkansas, the Warriors put up 47 points Tuesday on the Golden Suns but in a valiant effort, Arkansas Tech took the 90-47 win inside Tucker Coliseum from Russellville. A day after obtaining Southern Athletic Association Player of the Week honors, sophomore guard Vinessa Daniel tallied 10 points, five rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes of work while freshman guard Serena Pruitt added 10 points and three offensive rebounds off the bench.

TURNING POINT

- After leading by 10 after the opening quarter, Arkansas Tech outscored Hendrix by 11 in the second quarter and doubled up the Warriors in the third (13-26) en route to a 43-point win.


OF NOTE

- Daniel reached the double-figure mark for the fourth time this season despite the stats not counting towards seasonal records in the exhibition contest Tuesday.
- Junior forward Kessie Jenkins added six points and three boards in 23 minutes of work.
- Freshman guard Zoe Mojaver logged three points, an assist and a steal in 13 minutes of playing time.
- Freshman guard Sarah Vogel recorded a three-pointer and an assist in six minutes against ATU while sophomore forward Whitney Woods logged four points and three rebounds in 18 minutes of action.
- Hendrix shot 17-for-52 (32.7%) from the floor while ATU went 30-of-59 (50.8%) Tuesday night.
- The Warriors pulled down 30 rebounds in the exhibition loss and also made the Golden Suns turn the ball over 25 times.


WHO'S NEXT
Now that the Warriors' exhibition season is complete for the 2018-19 season, Hendrix resumes regular season action with a meeting down in Shreveport, La. with another meeting against Centenary (La.) Sunday. It will be the second meeting between both teams in the last nine days. Tip-off is set for 1 PM.
