CONWAY, Ark. - In what is easily said to be the shortest road trip for the Warriors on the 2018-19 season, Hendrix faced cross-town foe Central Arkansas Thursday night for the 130th time as part of an exhibition opener to the season. After hanging around with the Bears for most of the first half, a 7-4 run by UCA to end the half allowed the Bears to take a 12-point lead into intermission (46-34). A 7-0 run by the home team allowed for a 20-point UCA lead midway through the second half. The Bears ultimately scored 53 points in the second half to take the exhibition contest, 99-73, in a renewed matchup of the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference rivalry days.

TURNING POINT
- After an impressive layup in traffic from sophomore guard
Kam Brasfield, UCA sophomore guard DeAndre Jones nailed a three-pointer as the halftime buzzer sounded, catapulting a 16-11 run to start the second half for the Bears.
- UCA netted a 6-0 and 7-0 run midway through the second half highlighted by a deep three-pointer from Jones to take a commanding 20-point lead against Hendrix.
OF NOTE
- In the exhibition loss, freshman forward
Seth Stanley shot 4-of-7 from the floor including 3-of-5 from deep to finish with a game-best 16 points; all of which were scored in the opening half.
- Freshman guard
Sean Coman logged seven points in just 14 minutes of action for the Warriors.
- In the first game of his collegiate career, freshman forward
Alex Conrad nearly carded a double-double after recording 12 points and seven boards against the Bears.
- Brasfield finished with five points and three dimes in 17 minutes of work.
- UCA's size and versalitiy allowed the Bears to outrebound the Warriors 51-28.
- After connecting on 4-of-12 (.333) from beyond-the-arc at the half, the Warriors shot just .267 (4-for-15) in the second half.
- The Warriors shot just 38.2 percent (21-of-55) from the floor and committed 17 turnovers while UCA carded a 48.5 percentage (32-of-66) in the win and registered 14.
WHO'S NEXT
With the first of two exhibition games under its belt, the Warriors open up the regular season with a meeting against Dallas in Richardson, Texas Saturday at 2 p.m. before traveling to Fort Smith, Ark. to take on D-II foe Arkansas-Fort Smith Tuesday.
