Conway, AR - The Hendrix College softball team returned to action in a non-conference match-up against Austin College.  In what was supposed to be a doubleheader due to weather conditions was stopped in the fifth inning of the first game. 

The Warriors sat at 1-1 overall to start the day.  

The Warriors struck first in the game in the first inning. Hendrix jumped out with a three run, two hit first inning to gain the lead. The first set of batters would set the tone for HC.

Jaydan Hunt was the catalyst and led-off getting walked. After advancing on a sacrifice bunt and a wild pitch freshman Laura Mortan smacked a single of her own to bring home Hunt and break open the scoring. The second run came after two more batters walked, Taylor Oglesby, knotted an RBI single to build on the lead.

The Warriors added another run to their total in the top half of the second inning and Deva Bharne found herself right in the middle of it. Hunt led-off the inning with a triple. Bharne would get on base with a fielders choice. With an opportunity to drive in another run for Hendrix, Emily Stockalper wasted no time and smoked a single to extend to lead to 4-0.

The six more runs would put the icing on the cake for the Warriors as they would take a 10-8 win. They got a strong performance on the mound from Stockalper. Stockalper went all five innings, allowing six hits and striking out four Roo's batters.  Leading the offense was Oglesby who recorded three hits, one run scored and one RBI.

The win gives Hendrix a 2-1 overall record. The Warriors will next host the Warriors Spring Fling on February 17th.
