Atlanta, GA - The Hendrix women's basketball team competed against Oglethorpe in the SAA Conference Championship game today. Hendrix entered as the #3 seed while Oglethorpe entered as the #1 seed. 
After the first quarter Oglethorpe led the Warriors 14-12. 
At the end of the second quarter the Stormy Petrels led the Warriors 27-23. Vinessa Daniel led the team with seven points and was complemented by 
Leah Smith's five. 
Leah Boehl also chipped in three points to the effort. Daniel had three rebounds and 
Heather Prowse had three assists.
Oglethorpe held their lead over the Warriors 41-37 at the end of the third quarter. Some early foul trouble for the Warriors complicated the game up to this point along with committing multiple turnovers.
After a hard fought fourth quarter by both teams the championship game would go into overtime. In OT Oglethorpe held the advantage and came out victorious over the Warriors by a score of 70-69. Smith finished the game with 15 points and six rebounds. 
Madison Martin finished the game with ten rebounds and six points. Daniel also ended the night with a 13 point and six rebound performance.Â
