Conway, AR - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team hosted Augustana on Tuesday evening, looking to get their first win of the season. Unfortunately the Vikings were too much to handle defeating the Warriors in the non-conference match-up 21-14.

The Warriors started off firing on all cylinders, earning the game's first goal. The Warriors would get on the board again in just over four minutes in when junior Morgan Dasch would give HC the 2-1 lead.

Senior Shelby Hill added her second goal of the game nine minutes later, cutting the AC lead to 4-3.

The Warriors retook the momentum with five more goals to end the first half. Reilly Fraizer (1), Dasch (2), and freshman Alison Watanabe (2) scored the Warriors final five goals of a high scoring first half.

The break came just at the right time for the Warriors, taking the momentum away from Augustana and allowing Hendrix to get some of their own.

Dasch helped Hendrix score the first goal after half to give HC the 9-8 lead. Senior Kaitlyn Smith netted the next two HC tallies just minutes later to get the Warriors back within two at 13-11.

However, Hendrix's comeback was cut short as Augustana finished the game on a 7-3 run to take the 21-14 win.

Dasch finished with a team best five goals and nine points, while Hill wasn't far behind with three goals of her own. Watanabe ended the game with three goals, while Smith added two goals as the Warriors start their season 0-1 overall.

HC will next take on Southwestern on March 2nd at home. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
