Women's Lacrosse Falls to Whitman

Englewood, FL - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team opened their spring trip to Florida on Sunday afternoon, taking on the Blues of Whitman College.

The first half started with a bang for the Warriors, jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead on WC. Junior Morgan Dasch opened the scoring just three minutes into the contest. Minutes later senior Reilly Frazier earned her first goal of the game. However in between that time WC was able to grab some goals of their own and after the Frazier goal HC would tie the game up at 2-2.

WC added a third goal and the Blue pulled out to a lead. Hendrix tied the game back up when Dasch made it 3-3 as the Warriors showed they were not going to fall behind.

After another Frazier goal put HC in the lead the Blue showed that this wouldn't be a walk in the park for the Warriors, rattling off four straight to turn a 4-3 deficit into a 7-4 lead.

Dasch would strike again, stopping the Whitman run with a goal cutting the HC deficit to two. After another Blue six goal run Jordan Rausch scored the last goal of the half to cut HC's defect to 13-6.

Whitman opened the second half strong scoring a quick goal to bring their lead to 14-6.

Just like the first half the Blue would end the half on a eight goal streak. HC would not be able to find an answer as Whitman held off the Warriors 23-14.

Dasch finished the game with six goals and added two assists for eight points. Junior keeper Alexis Truitt finished with six saves as the Warriors fell to 4-2 on the young season. Hendrix will be back in action on Tuesday, March 20 when they take on St. Lawrence University as they continue their spring break Florida schedule. Face off is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
