Englewood, FL - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team competed in their second game in Florida with a show-down against the St. Lawrence Saints. Hendrix entered play with a 4-2 overall record.
The Warriors lost a tough neutral site match-up to the Saints by a score of 21-4. The loss put their record at 4-3 overall.
It was Hendrix who jumped out of the gates firing first, as it took them just under two minutes to score their first goal.
St. Lawrence grabbed their first goal just under a minute later to tie the game up 1-1.
The Saints would continue to score, getting the next eight goals of the contest to extend the lead to seven with a score of 8-1. A free position shot from
Morgan Dasch found its way to the back of the net and she tallied the second goal of the game for Hendrix right before halftime.
Down 8-2 the Warriors needed a major answer in the second half to give themselves a chance to leave with a victory.Â
The Saints dominated the first 12 minutes of the half, outscoring the Warriors 8-1 to stretch their lead to 16-3. Then
Reilly Frazier would break the SLU run with a goal at the 15:36 mark to cut the HC defect to 16-4. This would be the last goal for HC however as they would ultimately fall 21-4.
Dasch led the Warriors with a goal. Helping her was Frazier who tallied one,
Bridget Umble with one and
Alison Watanabe with one to account for all of the scoring for Hendrix.
The Warriors will play their last game in Florida against another non-conference foe, Benedictine University. The game is slated to start at 6 pm on March 22nd.
