Mount Berry, GA - The weather in Georgia was not looking kind for this weekend as the Warriors scheduled doubleheader at Berry was moved from Saturday afternoon to Friday evening. Despite the setbacks, Hendrix came out strong; however, it wasn't enough as the Vikings defeated the Warriors 2-0 and 10-3.
Game one was a tight affair throughout, with each team fighting hard at the dish. Berry would score the only two runs of the game in the fifth inning to take the game one victory.
Three different Warriors earned a hit. Game two was played just as tough as game one.
After the first inning Hendrix was down one.
The Warriors tied things at three with an RBI from
Jordan Mallard as
Karli Sewell scored to make it 3-3. The Vikings though immediately came back and regained a five run lead in the bottom of the fourth, once again leaving Hendrix with some work to do.
The Warriors unfortunately would not be able to get any more runs across as they would fall 10-3.
The losses drop the Warriors to 9-12, 2-6 SAA as they now look towards the series finale with Berry tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 am EST.
