Irving, TX - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team traveled to Texas to face Otterbein on Thursday afternoon looking to lock up a non-conference win. That is exactly what they did, taking down the Cardinals 22-20 to claim the victory.
The Warriors scored early and often, grabbing a 7-3 lead less than 16 minutes into the first half. By the end of the half the Warriors were up by three and in the second half they only added to it.
Otterbein however, out-shot Hendrix just barley 38-36. Hendrix would by a small margin again grab more ground balls 13-12. The was also not a big difference in turnovers as the Warriors committed 16 compared to 15 from the Cardinals.
Morgan Dasch was back to her dominating self, netting five goals and adding an assist and one ground ball for a six point outing.
Senior
Bridget Umble also had an impressive afternoon, scoring four goals herself and adding three assists for seven total points on the day.
Freshman
Alison Watanabe (4) and senior
Kaitlyn Smith (3) also finished the afternoon with hat tricks; while
Reilly Frazier,
Shelby Hill,Â
Raegan Giberson, and
Calah Justice rounded out the scoring for Hendrix. Junior
Alexis Truitt made 12 saves in her third win of the season.
The win gives the Warriors a 3-1 record.
The Warriors will be back in action on Friday, March 9 when they take on Dallas for a 12:00 pm start.
