Warriors Defeated by Late Panther Scoring

Conway, AR - The Hendrix men's lacrosse team (6-9, 1-4 SAA) played host to the Birmingham Southern College Panthers in a SAA Conference match-up. The Warriors started off the day by honoring their 2018 men's lacrosse seniors. Garrett Brown, Reed Mershon, Mason Millsap, Tucker Holihan, and Thomas Adamo were the special seniors honored.

In the first quarter, it was made very clear that Hendrix was going play hard from the get-go.  They made a strong commitment to applying serious pressure upon Birmingham Southern. The Warriors capitalized on their strong offensive play by scoring three times, while allowing zero Panthers tallies in the opening quarter of action.

The second quarter would prove to be a different story as the Panthers fought back, knotting the game up at 4-4 going into halftime.

With 9:42 left in the third quarter, Hendrix would retake the lead on a goal from Jack Gorman. One minute later, it was the BSC again finding twine as they would score back to back goals. HC would then tie the game up 6-6, however the Panthers would score the next four goals to go into the final quarter up 10-6.

Birmingham Southern struck again at the 13:12 mark.  The goal made the score 11-6 favoring Birmingham Southern, who would score the next goal as well.

Just a minute later the Warriors would score their last goal of the game. BSC would ultimately defeat the Warriors by the final score of 14-7.

The loss is the Warriors tenth in 16 games this season.  They also move to 1-5 in SAA play. Their next scheduled game is slated for Friday, April 20th when they compete in the opening round of the SAA Conference Tournament.
