Warriors Host Senior Day and Get Sweep of Majors

Conway, AR - The Warriors began their SAA Conference series today against the Majors of Millsaps. Today was a special day for the Warriors as they honored their 2018 seniors. Jessica Adkins, Deva Bharne, Bryanna Carlisle, Madi Fires, Rebecca Maeder, Morgan Maida, and Nikki Sanders were the seniors honored today. Hendrix was on a seven-game win streak and their record lied at 16-13 overall, 7-7 SAA.

In game one Hendrix would get on the board in the bottom half of the second inning after a single by Taylor Oglesby put the pressure on early. Oglesby would end up scoring on a Laura Mortan ground out.

The Majors capitalized on opportunity in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead.

The Warriors looked to decrease their deficit and had an opportunity to do that in the bottom of inning number three. With runners on first and second and just one out Hendrix's Jordan Mallard stepped up and hit a single to bring home Carlisle and make the score 3-2.

The Warriors were able to push another run across the board in the fourth inning after they capitalized on a crucial Major error. Oglesby reached first on a triple to right center and then would score on an error that would put Aubrey Brink on first base.  This run would tie up the score at 3-3.

The score remained tied until the bottom of the seventh inning and the Warriors once again took advantage of a Millsaps error. Brink would reach base on a single to left field and eventually score on an error. This would give Hendrix the 4-3 game one victory.

Oglesby led the Hendrix offense with two hits.

Game two gave the Warriors the opportunity to sweep the Majors in an important conference match-up. The game was tight early on as neither teams registered a run in the first seven innings and the game was pushed to extra innings.

The bottom of the tenth inning would be when the score would finally change as Hendrix would score a run to take game two 1-0.

Oglesby again led the offense for Hendrix with a hit in game two. Savannah Draud would pick up the win on the mound.

The win moves the Warriors record to 18-13 overall, 9-7 SAA and gave them a great end to a special senior day.

Hendrix returns to action with another SAA Conference match-up against Millsaps tomorrow, April 15th. First pitch is set for 12:00 pm.
