Atlanta, GA - The Hendrix women's lacrosse team (5-6, 1-3 SAA) took on Oglethorpe University on a Saturday afternoon.
Thanks in part to a balance, efficient attack, the Warriors found themselves boasting a 9-2 advantage after 30 minutes of action in SAA conference play.
Alison Watanabe contributed three goals in the opening stanza, helping Hendrix build a solid lead over Oglethorpe with the second half imminent.
The Warriors continued to fight hard in the latter half of play, holding lead en route to their eventual 17-13 victory over Oglethorpe. The win for the Warriors brings their SAA conference record to 2-3.
Leaders on the day for Hendrix were as follows: Watanabe led the Warriors with her seven points (five goals, two assists), while
Bridget Umble chipped in seven tallies of her own (five goals, two assists). In net,
Alexis Truitt allowed 13 goals while saving 15 Stormy Petrel shots.
The Warriors will look to make it two wins in a row as they will next be in action on Sunday, April 15th. They will face the Centre College Colonels.
