Conway, AR - The Hendrix College softball team hit the field as they hosted the Majors of Millsaps College. Hendrix was sporting a record of 18-13, 9-7 SAA, and were riding a nine game win streak.
The Warriors had no plans to let the Majors end their streak as they came out firing with a 9-1 win in a six-inning game.
The Hendrix offense was on a mission as they scored in three of the six innings of the game. They got it going early with
Jaydan Hunt who continued her strong play by doubling in inning number three and eventually scored by stealing home.
The Warriors continued their attack in the fifth inning after Hunt would reach on an error and advanced to second on a
Bryanna Carlisle single. A two out double by
Jordan Mallard brought Hunt and Carlisle home and increased the lead to 3-1.
After getting one more run across in the fifth inning the Warriors attack exploded in the sixth inning. They teamed up to score five runs on five hits to take a commanding 9-1 lead and ultimately the 9-1 victory. A monster RBI double off the bat of
Aubrey Brink was the highlight of inning. Also driving in runs in the inning were Carlisle,
Deva Bharne, and
Nikki Sanders.
The game saw multi-hit performances off the bats of Carlisle, Mallard,
Karli Sewell, and Sanders. Mallard recorded two hits in the game while tallying two RBIs and two runs scored. Controlling the game on the mound was
Emily Stockalper who allowed no runs with one hit in four innings of work.
The Warriors softball team will next travel to Chattanooga, TN on Friday, April 20th as they will compete in the SAA Conference Tournament.
