Chattanooga, TN - The Hendrix softball team looked to start the SAA Conference Tournament with a win and also extend their winning streak Thursday. The Warriors came into the tournament as the three seed and took on the six seeded Millsaps looking to extend their winning streak to eleven games and move on to the next round of the SAA Tournament.
The Warriors would get the day off to a quick start in the bottom of the first.
Bryanna Carlisle walked and she was scored on a
Jordan Mallard triple along with
Deva Bharne. The Warriors would add one more run in the bottom of the first taking advantage of an error.
Nikki Sanders would reach on an error bringing home Mallard.
Hendrix scored one run in the bottom of the second and also added four tallies in the bottom of the fourth. These would be the last runs scored in the game as Hendrix would cruse to a 8-0 victory in five innings.
Aubrey Brink had two hits on the day and Sanders contributed four RBIs to the effort.
The Warriors will not have much off time until their next contest which is scheduled for tomorrow, April 20th, as they face the winner of the Birmingham Southern and Sewanee game in the second round of the SAA Conference Tournament.
