Conway, AR - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team hosted Rhodes College in a SAA conference tilt. The Lynx started off hot and used that quick start to keep the Warriors at arm's length, topping Hendrix 19-9.
The Lynx opened the scoring just 20 seconds in to make it 1-0. The lead would grow for Rhodes as they would score another seven goals to grow their lead to 8-0 at the 18:39 mark of the first half.
Hendrix answered, when sophomore
Hannah Burroughs scored to make it 8-1.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, the Lynx would turn up the heat offensively. Rhodes scored five of the next seven goals leading into halftime, including a run of four in a row.
Rhodes buried the last goal before the break as Hendrix found themselves in an 13-3 deficit heading into the break.
Rhodes would go on a run early in the second half to grow their lead to 13. The Warriors would then score their first goal of the half to creep back to within 12 at the 23:16 mark. However, the Lynx put things away with three more goals in the second half to ultimately take the 19-9 victory.
Five different Warriors attempted at least one shot for Hendrix, as the Warriors threw 13 shots towards the Rhodes cage. The loss drops Hendrix to 5-6 overall, 1-3 SAA, as the Warriors continue SAA play next Saturday when they travel to Atlanta to take on the Stormy Petrels at 1:00 pm.
