Men's Soccer Stuns Berry for First SAA Win Since 2015

CONWAY, Ark. - Looking to get back to the winning side of things, Hendrix hosted the Berry Vikings in the next-to-last home contest of the regular season. Garrett Bosley struck for a goal in the 28th minute and in the 77th minute and held off Berry in the closing seconds as the Warriors recorded the huge 2-1 win to pick up its first Southern Athletic Association victory since the 2015 season. After the 2-1 win, Hendrix improves to 4-11 and 1-4 in the SAA while Berry drops to 8-6-1 and 2-3 in conference contests.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bosley scored his first goal at the 27:24 mark in the first half off a nice assist from Luis Lara; his second assist of his young career.
- After holding the 1-0 lead at the break, Bosley struck for his fourth goal of the season in the 77th minute as Hendrix held the 2-0 lead with less than 15 minutes to play in regulation.
- Berry scored off a penalty kick in teh 86th minute but the Warriors held off the Vikings for the huge 2-1 win inside the confines of Warrior Field.
- While the Warriors won, Berry outshot the Warriors, 18-7, while the Vikings recorded five corner kicks to Hendrix's one.
- Bosley finished with three shots in the win while Josh Robbins, Jackson Goodwin, Zack Roberts and Caden Qilcox all accounted for one Friday night.
- Josh Neuman accounted for seven saves and only allowed one goal in the 90 minutes of action in goal for Hendrix.
- The win Friday night was the first-ever win against Berry in program history (eight tries).
- With the win, Hendrix is currently in seventh-place in the SAA standings with just two conference games left in the regular season.

WHAT WAS SAID
"Really happy for the group to get such a positive result against a very good Berry team," stated a proud head coach Matt Kern after picking up his first SAA win as the Warriors' head man. "Bosley scored two great goals, Neuman was terrific in goal, and Ethan Nelson did a great job marking Jake Williamson, the leading scorer in the conference."
