Box Score CONWAY, Ark. - After being on the road for nearly three weeks, the Warriors returned back home to Conway for a huge Southern Athletic Association contest against the Birmingham-Southern Panthers from Grove Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. While both teams were, mathematically, still alive for a regular season championship berth, Birmingham-Southern College ended Hendrix's hopes of a regular season title by defeating the Warriors in straight sets Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Hendrix drops to 15-6 on the season with an impressive 9-3 mark in the SAA while BSC improves to 18-5 on the year with a 12-1 mark in conference play. With two conference games left, Hendrix is sitting in third place in the SAA standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 8-3 early on,
Jeanette McGrath and
Kiersten Huitt recorded back-to-back kills before a 5-0 BSC run allowed for a 13-6 Panther advantage midway through the opening set.
- Hendrix pulled within six, trailing 18-12, after a kill from
Sadie Walker but BSC took seven of the last nine points to take the first set, 25-14.
- Trailing 3-0 in the second set,
Lauren Dwyer's kill brought Hendrix within two but a quick 3-0 BSC run gave the Panthers the 6-1 edge.
- A 6-0 Warrior run put Hendrix within two points, at 19-17, but four straight kills led to a 6-1 Panther run as BSC took the second set, 25-18.
- BSC took the third set, 25-22, after recording a game-high 16 kills; Hendrix also recorded a team-best 13 kills and hit .128 in the third set as BSC records the sweep.

Claire Smith recorded a team-high 17 assists while
Sesalie Satterwhite accounted for 12.
- Walker finished with a game-best nine kills while Dwyer recorded seven kills and eight digs.
- McGrath also registered eight digs on the day.
- Hendrix currently holds the number three spot in the SAA standings with two conference games left.
UP NEXT
The Warriors remain in Conway for one more home contest on the 2019 regular season. Hendrix battles Millsaps Sunday at 12 p.m. in the final home game of the 2019 season. The Warriors' four seniors will be honored before the game.
