Men's Soccer Drops Regular Season Finale at Rhodes Sunday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Looking to make one final push in the Southern Athletic Association standings, Hendrix traveled to Memphis, Tenn. Sunday afternoon for a regular season finale contest against rival Rhodes. After going into the intermission break with a scoreless game, the Lynx managed three goals in the final 30 minutes of the game to take down Hendrix, 3-0. With the loss, Hendrix drops to 4-13 on the year with an 1-6 mark in SAA play while Rhodes improves to 4-10-2 and a 2-4-1 mark in conference games. Hendrix will be given the no. 8 seed in the 2019 SAA Championships which begin next Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After both teams failed to score in the first half, Rhodes scored in the 62nd, 72nd and 90th minutes to capture the 3-0 win over Hendrix.
- Rhodes finished with 32 shots on the day compared to Hendrix's six.
- Garrett Bosley and Caden Wilcox each finished with two shots on the day while also logging two shots on goal each.
- Cole Bolen and Jake Wiley each tallied one shot against the Lynx as well.
- Josh Neuman recorded a career-best 14 saves in the final game of the 2019 regular season after playing all 90 minutes for the Warriors in goal.
- Hendrix will be awarded the no. 8 seed for the 2019 SAA standings.

WHAT WAS SAID
"Full credit to Rhodes," said Hendrix head man Matt Kern. "They were better in possession and creates many more chances on goal. We were fortunate to be tied 0-0 at the half. Second half, we created a handful of really good opportunities but Rhodes capitalized on two headers and a free kick and dominated the stats. We are looking forward to competing in the SAA tournament next weekend!"

UP NEXT
The Warriors earn the no. 8 seed in the 2019 SAA standings and will travel to Atlanta, Ga. to battle the host and no. 1 seeded Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels Saturday. The game time is currently undecided.
