Box Score CONWAY, Ark. - Looking to bounce back after a loss Saturday to Birmingham-Southern College, Hendrix hosted Millsaps Sunday afternoon in the final volleyball game inside Grove Gymnasium on the 2019 season. Hendrix took the opening two sets against the Majors before giving up the next two sets. Despite being outhit .194 to .160, the Warriors managed to pull out a 16-14 set five win to defeat the Majors in five sets (25-19, 25-23, 15-25, 17-25, 16-14). In the huge win,
Maddie Tovar recorded a career-best 19-kill performance which included hitting .298 on the day against Millsaps. With the win on Senior Day, Hendrix improves to 16-6 on the year including a 10-3 mark in the Southern Athletic Association while Millsaps drops to 16-12 with a 6-8 record in conference competition. With only one conference game left on the season, Hendrix is pretty much assured to obtain the no. 3 seed for the 2019 SAA Championships which will take place in Birmingham, Ala. Hendrix's three seniors were honored prior to the game Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first set, a 4-0 run and a 5-0 run helped Hendrix capture the 25-19 set win after hitting .263 in the frame with 14 kills.
- Hendrix trailed 4-2 early on in the second period but back-to-back-to-back kills from
Kiersten Huitt,
Allison Long and Tovar put the Warriors on top, 5-4.
- A late 4-0 run put the Warriors up 18-14 but Millsaps tied the game up at 23 before
Claire Smith and
Lauren Dwyer recorded back-to-back kills as Hendrix recorded the 25-23 set win.
- A 7-0 run helped Millsaps take the 25-15 set win in the third frame.
- Hendrix hit .065 in the fourth period, as Millsaps took the set, 25-17.
- Millsaps took a 2-0 lead in the fifth set but a kill by Dwyer and a Major attack error knotted the game up at two early on.
- A quick 3-0 run put Hendrix up 5-4 and forced Millsaps to burn a timeout.
- Tovar recorded her 18th kill on the day to put Hendrix up 7-5, part of another quick 3-0 run from the home team.
- After Millsaps recorded six straight points and took an 11-8 advantage, Hendrix quickly took the next four points to hold the 12-11 lead.
- After Hendrix held the 14-12 advantage and match point, Millsaps avoided back-to-back match points to tie the game up at 14-all.
- A kill by
Sadie Walker gave Hendrix the 15-14 lead. Dwyer recorded her 13th kill of the day as Hendrix claimed the 16-14 set five win for the huge conference win on Senior Day.
- Dwyer finished with a season-high 25 digs and 13 kills; her 11th double-double of the year.

Sesalie Satterwhite finished one shy of her season-high after recording 23 assists Saturday.

Jeanette McGrath produced a season-best 33 digs in the huge win over the Majors while also recording a season-high three service aces.
- Smith also had 18 assists while
Caroline Parker had five.
- With one conference game left, the Warriors are currently ranked third in the SAA standings.

"Senior day is always bittersweet," stated head coach
Brittany Newberry. "Excited to see what the future holds for our seniors, but sad to see four incredible leaders move on. They all have left their mark on this program in their own ways and it showed today in the win over Millsaps. We still have more to accomplish this season and we're ready to finish strong."
UP NEXT
With just one conference game and two total games left on the regular season, the Warriors travel to Memphis, Tenn. Saturday. Hendrix will face Rhodes in the final SAA contest at 12 p.m. before taking on Belhaven in a non-conference contest at 2 p.m. in the final game of the regular season.
