Oklahoma Baptist Tops Warriors Friday Evening

CONWAY, Ark. - NCAA Division-II foe Oklahoma Baptist scored nine second-half goals Friday night in Conway as the Bison defeated Hendrix, 16-9, giving the Warriors its first loss of the season. Senior Morgan Dasch tallied a hat trick performance against OBU while junior Hannah Burroughs recorded a team-high four goals on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After OBU took a 2-0 lead in the opening five minutes of action, Dasch put the Warriors on the board then Burroughs tied the game up at 2-all with 22 minutes left in the first half.
- The Bison scored five of the next six goals as OBU sustained a commanding 7-3 lead with six minutes to go until half.
- Burroughs tacked on the final two goals of the opening frame as Hendrix trailed 7-5 after one half.
- Junior Sophie Mazzaro found sophomore Alison Watanabe with 25:15 to go to bring Hendrix within three, 9-6.
- Dasch scored the next two goals for the Warriors before sophomore Calah Justice recorded a man-up goal in the final 90 seconds but the Warriors fell 16-9 to the Bison.

OF NOTE:
- Through two games this season, Dasch now has 13 goals on the year and just sits seven goals back of being Hendrix's all-time leading goal scorer.
- Burroughs finished with a team-high four goals against the Bison and a ground ball.
- In addition to her goal, Watanabe carded a pair of assists to finish with three points and six caused turnovers on the day.
- Dasch won five draw controls while Mazzaro won four.
- Hendrix recorded 26 shots as a team while OBU landed 41 total.
- Freshman Talitha Joustra collected a team-best four ground balls Friday.

The Warriors hit the road to Georgetown, Texas to take on Southwestern (TX) Feb. 23 at 12 p.m.
