GEORGETOWN, Texas - Alison Watanabe recorded a career-high nine goals Saturday against the Pirates and Morgan Dasch inched her way closer to becoming Hendrix's all-time goal scorer as Hendrix (2-1) hung on to defeat Southwestern (TX) (1-2), 20-18, in a high-scoring affair from Georgetown, Texas. The Warriors improve to 2-1 after the big victory against the Pirates and will face Augustana (Ill.) Sunday from Georgetown, Texas as well. Dasch's six goal, 10-assist performance allowed the senior to best the previous program record for points in a game (14) after tallying 16 points Saturday; Dasch set the 14-point record in the 2019 season opener versus St. Mary-Leavenworth.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After trailing 4-0 early, Hendrix's Watanabe and Dasch combined to ignite a 4-0 run to tie the game up at 4-4 with 23:46 left in the opening half; all goals scored by Watanabe and Dasch.
- Trailing 5-4, Hendrix manufactured a 4-0 run with goals scored by Hannah Burroughs, Calah Justice and two more goals by Dasch as Hendrix led 8-5 halfway through the first half.
- Dasch and Burroughs tallied the final two goals of the opening half as Hendrix led 11-8 at the break.
- Watanabe accounted for two goals in a 62-second span to put Hendrix up by three goals with 26:37 left.
- Leading by just one, 14-13, Erin Rossics struck for her first goal of the day and started a 5-0 run by Hendrix to take a 19-13 lead with 13-plus minutes remaining; Watanabe accounted for three of the five goals in the run while Dasch scored the fifth goal in the 5-0 Hendrix run.
- Burroughs tallied a man-up insurance goal with 9:21 to put Hendrix up 20-14; Warriors held on to take down Southwestern (TX), 20-18.
OF NOTE:
- After recording six goals against the Pirates, Dasch is four goals from tying Hendrix's all-time goal scoring record and five goals from breaking it.
- Dasch accounted for a new career-high 16 points while dishing out 10 assists; the 16 points in a single game is a new program record; second time this season Dasch has bested her own record of most points in a game in school history.
- Watanabe accounted for a pair of assists Saturday while logging 11 points on the day.
- Justice accounted for a team-high 10 draw control wins while Burroughs recorded three goals against the Pirates on five shots.
- Hendrix's all-time saves leader Alexis Truitt tallied 11 saves in the win against Southwestern (TX) after playing in all 60 minutes of work Saturday.
- Watanabe also registered a team-high two ground balls in the two-goal victory.

"Both teams came out to play hard today," stated Head Coach Kristi Crowley. "I am proud of our team for staying composed when the game got a little chippy. We noticed some changes in our game that we look forward to applying to Augustana (Ill.) Sunday."
