CONWAY, Ark. - Looking to avenge a loss a week ago to Southwestern (TX) from Conway, Hendrix (2-2) concluded a season-long four-game home stand to open up the season by welcoming Huntingdon (2-1) Saturday afternoon. The Hawks took a 5-4 advantage into the intermission after scoring as the halftime buzzer sounded and outscored the Warriors 6-2 in the final 30 minutes of play to defeat Hendrix 11-6 inside the confines of Young-Wise Memorial Stadium. Spencer Dorfneilsen tallied his 11th and 12th goals of the season while also picking up a team-best four ground balls on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After trailing 1-0 early in the game, Dorfneilsen struck first for the Warriors to tie the game up at one-all with 12:32 left in the opening quarter.
- After a goal from Max Lynch and then followed by a Huntingdon score, Dorfneilsen and Alec Davis recorded back-to-back scores to give Hendrix a 4-2 edge with 2:11 left in the first period; Hendrix led 4-3 after 15 minutes of action.
- Despite no team recording any goals in the first 14 minutes of the second frame, the Hawks managed two goals in the final 53 seconds to take the 5-4 advantage at the half.
- Huntingdon scored the first two goals of the second half before Jack Gorman scored his first of the day to bring Hendrix within two, 7-5, with 11:38 left in the third period; the Hawks scored the final three goals of the third to take a 10-5 lead.
- The Hawks struck first again, this time 18 seconds into the fourth quarter to take a commanding 11-5 lead.
- Cullen Robinette recorded his first goal of the day with 10:00 left in regulation but it wasn't enough as Hendrix fell to the Hawks, 11-6.
OF NOTE:
- Dorfneilsen also tallied two caused turnovers against the Hawks Saturday.
- Lynch, Sean Howard and Drew Scanlan picked up the three lone assists for the Warriors against Huntingdon.
- Lynch carded two of the three face off wins for Hendrix.
- Kip VanHoose tallied three ground balls Saturday while Hendrix registered 23 total ones as a unit.
- Taylor Noack logged 17 saves in all 60 minutes of action against the Hawks.
WHO'S NEXT:
After opening up the season with its first four games of the season at home, Hendrix hits the road for the first time this year. The Warriors will battle Fontbonne March 2 from St. Louis, Mo. at 12 p.m.
