CONWAY, Ark. – After starting the 2019 season with a 3-1 mark, Hendrix welcomed in Westminster (Mo.) and Centenary (La.) to Conway to take part in the 2019 Warrior Spring Fling after the event had been shortened due to weather earlier in the weekend. After falling behind early, the Warriors defeated the Blue Jays 9-8 in eight innings before taking down the Ladies 4-1 in the final contest of the tournament Sunday evening. Hendrix improves to 5-1 on the season; the second best start in program history.

- Sewell finished with a team-best three hits; batted 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

- After the Bluejays took the 8-7 lead in the top of the eighth, K. Bryant singled before Johnston came in to pinch run. After a fly out moved Johnston to third, Johnston scored, unearned, after a muffed throw by the catcher for Westminster (Mo.)

WHO'S NEXT:
The Warriors will hit the road to Jackson, Miss. to open up Southern Athletic Association play against Millsaps March 2 for a doubleheader. Hendrix will take on the Majors at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. before finishing the series March 3 at 12 p.m.
