JACKSON, Miss. – After a rainy forecasted effected Hendrix softball's weekend of play for the second consecutive weekend, the Warriors took on Millsaps three times Saturday from Jackson, Miss. and the Warriors came away with three huge victories in the opening games of the 2019 Southern Athletic Association portion of the regular season. The Warriors defeated the Majors 12-4 in game one after six innings, 12-8 in game two and 10-2 in the final game of the day. Hendrix sits atop the 2019 SAA standings with an 8-1 overall record and a 3-0 mark in conference play. The 8-1 start to the season is the best start for Warrior Softball since the 2006 season (12-2) and the 8-1 mark is the second-best start in program history.
Jaydan Hunt carded at least one RBI in each of the three games to finish with six total RBIs on the day in the three wins.

GAME 1
- Trailing 2-0, a three-run shot to center field by Hunt put the Warriors up 3-2 and in command for the rest of the game.
- The Warriors recorded back-to-back three-run innings in the fifth and sixth innings to take down Millsaps, 12-8.
- Hunt batted 2-2 at the plate with a run and a team-high 4 RBIs while
Grace Bryant tallied two RBIs.
- G. Bryant tallied a game-high four runs after hitting 4-4; Oglesby added three runs herself against the Majors.

Savannah Draud tossed a complete game in the circle for Hendrix to improve to 2-0 on the season; also struck out a pair of Majors in the outing.
GAME 2
- After scoring a pair of runs in the first and third innings, Hendrix struck for eight runs in the sixth inning to win a mercy-rule game 12-4 against Millsaps.
- G. Bryant hit 1.000 for the second straight game after going 3-3 against Millsaps in game two; tallied two more RBIs and two runs.

Aubrey Brink went 3-4 at the plate with two runs and a game-high 4 RBIs; also tallied a home run against the Majors.

Laura Mortan carded the lone two-hit game for Hendrix while tallying two runs, a RBI and drew one walk.

Hailey Johnston threw five innings of action in her third collegiate start; picked up third victory of season; gave up only two earned runs in her outing.

Skyler Teague came in the sixth inning for the final three outs; allowed just one hit in the performance.
GAME 3
- The Warriors jumped out to a three-run lead in the first inning thanks to a sac fly and a couple of timely hits. Millsaps scored twice in the first but failed to score any after that as Hendix won game three, 10-2.
- Brink,
Kinsey Bryant, Mortan and
Emily Stockalper tallied the multi-hits for Hendrix.
- Stockalper and
Avery Colclaser tallied a pair of multi-run games while Hendrix improved to 8-1 on the season.
- G. Bryant ended the day batting 2-4 with a pair of doubles while K. Bryant tallied a double of her own as did Mortan.
- Stockalper tossed all seven innings of work from the circle for Hendrix as the senior picked up her second win of the year; allowed just five hits and two earned runs in the complete game outing, also fanned two.
