Women's Lacrosse Falls to the Pioneers Sunday

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Playing in its second game in as many days, Hendrix only managed to tally nine goals Saturday as Transylvania gave the Warriors its second consecutive loss. The Pioneers, who led by six at the break, outscored Hendrix 11-1 in the final 30 minutes to defeat the Warriors 25-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hendrix trailed 4-0 after four-plus minutes before Alison Watanabe added to her weekend total. Three scores by Watanabe in the next six minutes brought Hendrix within 6-3 with 17:34 left until halftime.
- Morgan Dasch struck for her first goal of the game 13 minutes into the game to bring Hendrix within a pair of goals but a 6-1 by Transylvania propelled the Pioneers to take a 12-5 advantage with 6:59 until half.
- Trailing by eight, Hannah Burroughs carded a goal for Hendrix as did Dasch again; finishing for the hat trick right before halftime as Hendrix trailed by eight at the break.
- Watanabe accounted for the lone goal for the Warriors in the second half as the Pioneers defeated Hendrix 25-9 Sunday afternoon.

OF NOTE:
- Watanabe records the most goals Sunday for Hendrix for the second straight day; recorded five goals off seven shots (six of which were on goal).
- Burroughs tallied one ground ball in the loss with the one goal; also had three draw control wins.
- Dasch registered three goals with a team-high six ground balls.
- Alexis Truitt accounted for seven saves in all 60 minutes of action.
- Hendrix records 10 goals of fewer for the fourth time this season (0-4).
- Transylvania scooped up 40 ground balls while Hendrix tallied just 17.

The Warriors return to Conway with a pivotal showdown against Rhodes Saturday at 12 p.m. from Warrior Turf.
