Warriors Split With Red Dragons Wednesday

CONWAY, Ark. – After entering Wednesday with an 8-1 record on the season and off to its best start since the 2006 season, Hendrix split with SUNY Oneonta Wednesday evening from Warrior Field to move to 9-2 on the year. The Warriors fell 6-4 in the first game after the Red Dragons took a 5-4 lead thanks to a three-run home run to left field but managed the split after Emily Stockalper tossed her second complete game of the season as the senior fanned seven in her fifth appearance while picking up her third win of the year.
  
HOW THE WARRIORS SCORED:
GAME 1
Emily Stockalper advanced to second, out at third lf to c; Jaydan Hunt scored on a throwing error by c.
Taylor Oglesby singled to right field, RBI; Laura Mortan advanced to third; Karli Sewell scored, unearned.
Emily Stockalper singled through the left side, RBI, advanced to second; Jaydan Hunt advanced to third; Nicole Hendrix scored.
Karli Sewell singled to third base, RBI; Emily Stockalper advanced to third; Jaydan Hunt scored, unearned.

NOTABLE:
GAME 1
- After trailing by two runs in the first, Hendrix tallied for two runs in the bottom half of the first.
- Stockalper and Sewell carded RBI singles in the fourth to take the 4-2 lead before SUNY Oneonta scored the final four runs of the game.
- Oglesby, Sewell and Stockalper recorded two hits each while also registering one RBI each as well.
- After falling just by two runs, the Warriors left 11 players stranded on base.
- Draud tossed 134 pitches in six and one-third innings of work; struck out seven.
- Skyler Teague came on in the seventh inning with one out to replace Draud; Teague recorded the final two outs on four pitches in the no decision.

GAME 2
- After scoring two runs in the first inning in the second straight game, two runs would be all Hendrix needed for the 4-1 victory.
- After drawing a walk her first time up, Hunt finished the game 2-for-2 with two runs and the lone extra-base hit in the game.
- Stockalper helped her own cause with a 1-for-3 performance at the plate, a run scored and an RBI.
- K. Bryant, G. Bryant and Shaw managed to record hits for Hendrix in the game.
- Stockalper tallied the lone stolen base in the game (first inning)

Hendrix will host Centenary (La.) in a doubleheader set for Sunday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. from Conway.
