CONWAY, Ark. - Coming off a dominant 26-7 victory over Fontbonne, Hendrix (4-2) continued its winning ways Friday night after scoring a season-high 13 goals in the opening period as the Warriors dismantled Johnson & Wales (Co.), 29-1, on a foggy night inside Young-Wise Memorial Stadium. The Warriors, who managed to score goals in the first 30 seconds of both the first and second periods, record its third victory at home this season and improve to 2-1 on the 2019 year against teams out of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The 29 goals scored Friday tie the program record for goals in a contest (2017 & 2019 against Centenary both times).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Following a face-off victory by Elias Ramos, Ramos found Drew Scanlan 25 seconds into the match for the Warriors' first goal of the evening. Ramos and Scanlan would tack on one goal each in the next four minutes as the Warriors took the early three-goal lead.
- Jack Gorman, Dominic Dachille and Cole Cramer recorded their first goals of the day midway through the first period as Hendrix sustained a 6-0 lead with 4:54 to go. The Warriors led 13-0 as the Wildcats failed to get a shot off in the opening frame.
- Hendrix scored the first seven goals of the second period before the Wildcats netted its first shot of the day and first goal of the day but the Warriors led 20-1 at the break.
- The Warriors scored the final nine goals of the game to run past Johnson & Wales (Co.), 29-1.
OF NOTE:
- Alec Davis tallied a game-high five goals in the win while Scanlan and Cramer added four apiece.
- Ramos accounted for three of the 29 goals while also adding two assists, picking up 12 ground balls and winning 14-of-18 faceoffs.
- Scanlan registered a game-best four assists Friday night while eight Warrior players logged one assist each in the 28-goal victory.
- Samuel Martin scored his second goal of the season early in the second period while Spencer Dorfneilsen, who was averaging 3.8 goals per game coming into Friday, did not score a goal until 7:34 left in the fourth period; his lone goal of the contest.
- After coming into the game ranked first in all of NCAA Division III in ground balls, Hendrix scooped up 58 more ground balls Friday in the big non-conference win.
- Jimmy O'Day, who leads the team in face-off percentage at 78.6%, won four face-offs for the Warriors, out of seven tries, while Hendrix caused 26 turnovers and held the Wildcats to just five shots in the entire 60 minutes of action.
WHO'S NEXT:
The Warriors will enjoy seven days off before taking on Rhodes March 16 from Young-Wise Memorial Stadium in the first Southern Athletic Association contest of the 2019 season. Hendrix will battle the Lynx at 5 p.m.
