Warriors Take Down Centre Twice Following Three-Game Series on Sunday

CONWAY, Ark. - Looking to climb higher in the Southern Athletic Association standings, Hendrix took on Centre three times from Conway on Sunday. In the first game, a complete game, three-hit scoreless outing by Savannah Draud allowed for a 6-0 Hendrix win. The Warriors led 5-4 in game two with three outs away from another victory but the Colonels scored twice in the seventh frame to win game two, 5-4. In the rubber game, Skyler Teague picked up her first win of her collegiate career as Hendrix held off Centre, 5-3, to win the series. The Warriors improve to 17-16 on the year with an 8-7 mark in SAA play while Centre falls to 10-20 on the season with an even 7-7 mark in conference action. Head Coach Amy Weaver picked up her 300th-career win at Hendrix following the game three win Sunday.

NOTABLE:
GAME 1
- A two-out triple by Rivera scored Reames from second base as Hendrix snagged the 1-0 lead early.
- Brink followed with a two-out triple of her own that scored Rivera still in the second inning as Hendrix led 2-0.
- A four-run sixth inning allowed for a six-run lead before Draud retired the side in the seventh as Hendrix won 6-0.
- Brink and Oglesby finished with two hits each in the game and combined for three RBIs
- Draud picked up her fifth win of the season after tossing her seventh complete game of the season and only allowing three hits.
- Draud also struck out four Colonels in her 15th appearance of the season.

GAME 2
- Tied at 1-1, Hendrix struck for three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead thanks to RBI singles by Mortan and Oglesby.
- Tied up at 4-4 in the sixth, an RBI triple by Stockalper scored Colclaser as Hendrix enjoyed a 5-4 lead with three outs to go.
- The Colonels scored two runs in the seventh frame; Sewell led off the seventh for Hendrix with a single but two ground outs and a fly out allowed for Centre to pick up the 6-5 win.
- Six Warriors picked up one hit in the game; Hunt carded two RBIs.
- Brink batted 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored while G. Bryant picked up the lone extra-base hit for Hendrix.
- Stockalper recorded her eighth complete game outing of the season while striking out seven Colonels.

GAME 3
- Trailing 1-0 in the first, three-straight two-out hits by Hendrix allowed for the Warriors to take the 3-1 edge early.
- Both teams added a run each in the fifth inning.
- The Colonels brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh inning after the leadoff batter walked but a fly out, a fielder's choice and a pop up allowed for Hendrix to get the 5-3 victory.
- Reames, Stockalper and G. Bryant collected two hits each in the game.
- Sewell accounted for a pair of RBIs while G. Bryant and Reames recorded one.
- Stockalper and Reames carded the lone extra-base hits for Hendrix in the game.
- Teague picked up her first collegiate victory after pitching two innings of work and striking out three. 
- Draud pitched the final five innings of action; allowing just three hits in the outing to pick up her second save of the year.

WHO'S NEXT:
Hendrix will conclude the regular season in Memphis, Tenn. with a three-games set against Rhodes beginning Friday. First pitch of the first game is set for 12 p.m.
