MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After capturing a 1-0 victory over the Webster Gorloks Sunday in Conway, Hendrix men's soccer traveled to Memphis, Tenn. to take part in the 2019 Rhodes Invitational with a matchup against Austin College Friday afternoon. The Roos accounted for two goals in the opening 45 minutes but two goals by the Warriors in the first 15 minutes of the second half tied the game, 2-2, with 30 minutes left in regulation. The 'Roos recorded a goal in the 86th minute to take the 3-2 lead as the Warriors fell by exact same score Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Austin College scored in the 37th and 44th minutes to take the early 2-0 lead Friday against Hendrix.
- Safin Attwal accounted for his first goal of the season in the 56th minute off an assist from Eli Brizendine and Luis Lara for the Warriors.
- Less than two minutes after Attwal's first score of the year, Josh Robbins tallied his first of the year; scoring off a penalty kick in the 58th minute.
- An Austin College score at the 85:47 mark allowed for the eventual 3-2 lead for the 'Roos as AC held on.
- As a team, the Warriors recorded 11 shots with five of them being on goal.
- Both teams accounted for three saves as a team and three corner kicks.
- Robbins finished with a team-high three shots with one being on goal and the lone score from the senior in the 58th minute.
- Lara finished with two shots and one assist; also had one shot on goal.
- Josh Neuman accounted for three saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal for the Warriors Friday.

WHAT WAS SAID
"I thought it was a very even college soccer match," head coach Matt Kern went on to say. "While we were disappointed to be down 0-2 at the half, I was really proud of the boys to come back and tie the game 2-2. Attacking to defensive transition was the difference in the game and we need to continue to improve in that area."

UP NEXT
Hendrix remains in Memphis, Tenn. for one last contest in the 2019 Rhodes Invitational. The Warriors will take on UT Dallas at 12 p.m. Sunday.
