Warriors, Eagles End in Yet Another Tie

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - Looking to avenge a 1-1 tie earlier in the season in Conway, Hendrix faced Ozarks for the second this year but this time from Clarksville. Hendrix trailed 1-0 through five minutes before Hagan Griffith put the Warriors on the board in the 23rd minute off a penalty kick. The Eagles took the 2-1 lead into the halftime before the Warriors tied it in the 57th minute. After two overtime sessions; the game finished in a tie. Hendrix picks up its fourth tie of the year; setting a new program record for most ties in a single season and is now 3-2-4 while the Eagles are 3-1-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Griffith scored at the 22:38 mark to tie the game up at 1; her conference-leading 10th goal of the season and also conference-leading 23rd point of the season.
- Trailing 2-1 at the half, Sydney Wagner scored her second collegiate goal in as many days in the 57th minute to tie the game at 2.
- Following a tie after 90 minutes, Griffith recorded a shot on goal in both the first and second overtime sessions but neither found the back of the net as Hendrix recorded its third tie in the last four games.
- Hendrix, as a team, finished with 27 shots on the day and 16 shots on goal while Ozarks tallied 15.
- Griffith finished with 11 shots and seven shots on goal against the Eagles with the lone score while both freshmen Claire Huchingson and Wagner accounted for four shots each Sunday.
- Mary Helen VanHoy registered a pair of shots as well.
- Junior Anna Claire Lewis played the opening 23:11 of the game in goal for Hendrix; allowing just one goal and recording a save while freshman Avery Jensen played the final 86:49 while allowing one goal and collecting five saves.

WHAT WAS SAID
"I was proud of how the girls played," said head coach Jeff Trimble after Hendrix's second game in as many days. "I put us in a rough spot with my scheduling this year. Coming off of yesterday's game we were pretty tired and I think it showed a little bit today. We also showed a lot of fight to come back and I'm proud of that."

UP NEXT
Hendrix remains on the road with a 5 p.m. kickoff against Centenary (La.) from Shreveport, La. Tuesday.
