Men's Lacrosse Gives Hawks First Loss of Season After 6-5 Win in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - In search for its first win of the year, Hendrix traveled to Montgomery, Ala. Friday to take on the Huntingdon Hawks in a big non-conference tilt. After both teams scored two goals in the first quarter, the Warriors carded a 4-0 goal through the second and third goals and were able to withstand a late 3-0 Hawk run to hang on for the 6-5 victory over Huntingdon Friday. Max Lynch carded two goals on the day; both being scored in the first period while Brandon Barnes finished with two goals as well. Hendrix improves to 1-2 on the young season while Huntingdon falls to 2-1.

OF NOTE:
- Lynch scored his first goal nearly three minutes into the game before striking for his second just two minutes later to put Hendrix up 2-0 early on.
- After a 2-0 Hawk run, both teams were tied at two after 15 minutes.
- Rolland put Hendrix up, 3-2, after scoring in the first 30 seconds of the second period before Spencer Dorfneilsen scored midway through the quarter. Brandon Barnes scored the next two goals for Hendrix as the Warriors enjoyed a 6-2 lead with 15 minutes left.
- The Hawks scored three goals in the final period but it wasn't enough as Hendrix tallied the 6-5 win over the Hawks on Valentine's Day.

BOX SCORE NOTABLE:
- Roland tallied eight shots and four shots on goal with one caused turnover.
- Lynch accounted for seven shots and three shots on goal against the Hawks.
- Patrick Dellinger carded a team-best five ground balls while Marshall Gregg carded four. Dellinger also tallied a game-high five caused turnovers.
- Elias Ramos won nine faceoffs on 15 attempts.
- Patrick Adamo recorded 14 saves in all 60 minutes of action Sautrday in Montgomery, Ala. and also picked up his first win of the year.

Hendrix travels to LaGrange, Ga. to take on LaGrange Sunday at 1 p.m.
