CONWAY, Ark. - After opening Southern Athletic Association play last weekend against rival Rhodes, men's tennis hosted John Brown Saturday afternoon. The women's tennis squad downed JBU, 7-2, en route to its first victory of 2020 while the men's team fell, 9-0. The women improve to 1-3 on the young season while the men fall to 0-4.
Rebecca Sherman and
Shelby Worsham won a huge, thrilling match at the No. 1 doubles spot, 8-7 (6), while
Greer Ayers and
Sara Hoopchuk cruised to an 8-2 doubles victory as well. Ayers, Worsham and
Sarah Morris cruised to straight-set singles victories Saturday in Hendrix's win over JBU.

Craig Kirchgessner proudly. "We started with a couple of victories at the doubles spot to set the tone and then we highlighted with some quality wins at the singles. I am proud of how we controlled our emotions after started doubles slowly. Our ground strokes were clicking and that pushed us over the top tonight!"
