CONWAY, Ark. - After going 1-2 last weekend in Grand Prairie, Texas, Hendrix hosted Millikin Saturday in its home opener Saturday as part of a doubleheader from Warrior Field. In the first game of the doubleheader, Hendrix plated eight unanswered runs after trailing 1-0 early as the Warriors cruised to an 8-1 victory. Evan Ingram tossed a seven-inning gem; allowing just three hits while also striking out nine in the first game against Millikin as Hendrix won its second-straight game. In the nightcap of the doubleheader, the Warriors trailed 7-4 through seven and one-half innings. Rail Gilliam laced a two-RBI single to right center field while Gerard Russo tied the game up on a sacrifice bunt moments later. Zach Orlando came in for Hayden Seay and pitched the final inning; retiring Millikin in order on 13 pitches. Adam Bland was patient enough in the ninth to draw a bases loaded walk; scoring Justin Scott as Hendrix picked up the big 8-7 come-from-behind win as the Warriors swept the day. Hendrix improves to 3-2 on the season while the Big Blue fall to 0-2.
